The Nepali film Jaari is running successfully all over the nation. And the movie has entered its second week as of today. The movie had almost 85% occupancy throughout the week, and it got a similar response on its second Friday too.
Today Bollywood biggie ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ is also released in Nepal, and it would have been a big competitor to Jaari. But the response to Jaari has made the film makers smile. Jaari has won the Salman Khan-starrer movie Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan at major multiplexes in Kathmandu. At major multiplexes, Jaari has a higher number of screens than Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, and it has surprised the Nepali film makers.
Salman Khan is returning to the big screen after almost four years, and this movie was expected to bring charm to the box office. But the review of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is very poor, and Jaari’s response is positive, which made Jaari shine at the box office. And the second week will also be a big one at the box office.
At the QFX chain, Jaari has got more shows than Salman Khan’s movie, and this has made the good film makers excited. This clash will set the trend that if a Nepali movie is made with good content, then a Bollywood movie can’t hamper the business of a Nepali movie. Last year also, A Mero Hajur 4 clashed with KGF 2, and it also survived due to the positive response to the movie. And Jaari is also winning Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan by a big margin. From Sunday, Jaari will get the maximum screen for sure.
Although the final collection of Jaari is yet to come, the report mentions that Jaari has collected around 7 crore plus in its first week. And the final number can be near 7.5 crore from all over Nepal. The movie will collect another 5 crore plus in its second week, making it a blockbuster. The movie can challenge Chhakka Panja’s lifetime collection as Jaari’s occupancy is superb all over the nation.
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is also having a very weak opening in Bollywood. The movie is expected to collect 10–12 crore, which is very low for a Salman Khan-starrer movie. The movie has received negative reviews from critics. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’s Nepal rights are acquired by paying 1.6 crore. The movie is directed by Farhad Samji.
Jaari is written and directed by Upendra Subba. The movie released on Baisakh 1 is the first blockbuster Nepali movie of the year. The movie is produced by Ram Babu Gurung. The movie features Dayahang Rai, Miruna Magar, and Bijay Baral in the lead roles.
