He has also sent a message to four leaders of the Nepali Congress and said that he quit the Nepali Congress today. Swarnim Wagle, who was expecting to participate in a by-election from Nepali Congress but he couldn’t get the opportunity.
Dr. Wagle is an economist as well as the leader of the Nepali Congress. He was ready to participate in the last election, and he was expecting a ticket from the Nepali Congress. He was ready to participate in the election from Kathmandu or outside Kathmandu, as he was positive about winning. But his wish was not fulfilled by the Nepali Congress. And now, this time on the by-election, Dr Wagle was expecting to participate from Chitwan, but this time also the Nepali Congress didn’t give him a chance.
Dr. Wagle sent a message to four top leaders of the Nepali Congress. Shekhar Koirala, Gagan Thapa, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, and Govinda Raj Pokharel received a message from Wagle in which he mentioned that he wouldn’t be engaged in the party, which is led by Sher Bahadur Deuba and Arzu Rana Deuba. According to Dr. Wagle, the Nepali Congress is led by Sher Bahadur Deuba and Arzu Deuba, where there are only opportunities for their circle, which made him take this decision of quitting the Nepali Congress party.
Dr. Wagle had received support from Gagan Thapa, and he approached the President of the party to give him a ticket from Kathmandu 4, for which he was ready to participate in the election from Sarlahi. But later, Sher Bahadur Deuba and Arzu Deuba didn’t show much interest in Dr. Wagle. On social media, Nepali Congress youths were expecting Dr. Wagle to come as a Finance Minister and bring the Nepali economy on track. But the Nepali Congress didn’t give a positive response to Dr. Wagle.
Dr. Swarnim Wagle was invited by Kp Sharma Oli from the UML to participate in the election. But Dr. Wagle denied the proposal and waited for the Nepali Congress to give him a chance. Rabi Lamichhane’s party, the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has been invited this time to participate in the by-election, and Dr. Wagle has accepted the proposal. He will be participating in the by-election in Tanahau from the Rastriya Swatantra Party.
Dr. Wagle, who has actively served the Nepali Congress for the past ten years, has sadly left the party. There have been various responses to Dr. Wagle’s decision. Let’s point out the major reasons for quitting the Nepali Congress Party:
- Dr. Swarnim Wagle didn’t get a chance in two elections. He wanted to serve the nation through politics to bring the Nepali economy back on track. His capabilities were not utilized by the Nepali Congress, which made him disappointed.
- Arzu Deuba has not been positive with Dr. Wagle since the early days. If Dr. Wagle wins the election, he will be the first choice for Finance Minister, as he is prominent in that field. So Arzu Deuba doesn’t want Dr. Wagle to participate in the election so that she can make ‘Yes Man’ Finance Minister.
- Gagan Thapa was ready to leave Kathmandu 4 for Swarnim Wagle, but Sher Bahadur Deuba didn’t show any interest in Dr. Wagle. He was more disappointed.
- Dr. Wagle wanted to become Finance Minister, but he didn’t see the chance from the Nepali Congress for the next ten years either. When the nation was suffering an economic crisis, he wanted to show his potential at this time. So he chose the Rastriya Swatantra Party to participate in the by-election.
- Although Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma were positive, Dr. Wagle was sure that they could do nothing as the Nepali Congress Party is in the hands of Sher Bahadur Deuba and Arzu Deuba.
