Anmol Kc’s most hyped movie, Chhadke 2 was released last month, and the movie performed very poorly at the box office. Chhadke 2, which was said to be made on a high budget, couldn’t even recover the fee paid to lead actor Anmol Kc. Chhadke 2 was declared a superflop.
Chhadke 2 was directed by Nigam Shrestha, who earlier directed Chhadke too. Chhadke was also an overhyped movie that had an excellent opening but got very bad reviews from the critics. Nigam Shrestha was criticized for his work on Chhadke. And on Chhadke 2, too, Nigam Shrestha misused the big budget and star cast. The failure of Chhadke 2 is attributed to the director, as the movie has very weak content.
Chhadke 2 couldn’t do the bumper opening either. The movie couldn’t survive a week either. It is said to be a disaster. Chhadke 2 had a clash with ‘Chhakka Panja 4, but the content of Chhadke 2 couldn’t please the audience, so the movie couldn’t show charm at the box office.

Chhadke 2 was in theaters for only five days. On the sixth day, the movie was removed from all the major theaters across Nepal. Chhadke 2 was made on a budget of 3 crores, whereas Anmol Kc was paid 50–55 lakhs as his fee. And Chhadke 2 could only handle the business of around 30 lakhs. From this business, only 10 lakh shares will reach the hands of producers.
Chhadke 2 is such a disaster that it couldn’t even recover the fee paid to Anmol Kc. Chhadke 2 had featured Anmol Kc in a gangster avatar, which was an experiment too. His performance and attempt to portray a gangster role were appreciated by the audience and critics. But the content of the movie was not accepted. The movie failed due to its content.
One of the distributors of the movie, Sunil Manandhar, claims that he has lost around 1.3 crore from Chhadke 2. He was super confident in the movie, as Anmol Kc’s star power would make it a sureshot hit, but that didn’t happen. He invested 1.3 crore in this movie by trusting the star power of Anmol Kc. He had to lose 1.3 crore from the movie.
He says, “I invested huge money in this movie for Anmol Kc, but his stardom couldn’t show charm this time. May be the audience had a negative impression of Chhadke’s brand as the first part also disappointed them. But I am confident that Anmol’s next movie will do well. One failure won’t affect Anmol Kc’s career. I am ready to invest in his next movie if I get the chance for distribution.”
After the failure of Chhadke 2 in Nepal, the movie’s international release was also cancelled. The movie was supposed to be released in many countries, but after the negative reviews from its Nepal release, the movie’s international release was cancelled. Producers have to lose the international release’s money too.
After the failure of Chhadke 2, Anmol Kc has accepted his mistake and apologized too. He mentioned that this failure has taught him a lesson, and he will focus on the movies that he selects in the future. He assures his fans that he won’t disappoint in the coming days. Chhadke 2 is the first flop film of Anmol Kc.
