Kathmandu (RSS): Jan Thesleff, the Swedish ambassador to Nepal, is in Kathmandu from May 14–17, accompanied by officials from the Swedish Energy Agency and Swedish industry executives.
Ambassador Thesleff will meet with officials, including Foreign Affairs Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, during his visit. He will also take part in the second edition of the EU-Nepal Business Forum, which is scheduled for May 15–16.
Companies such as Hexagon, Hitachi Energy, and Saab are part of the business delegation. The Swedish Embassy in New Delhi sent a press release stating that since the two countries’ diplomatic relations were established in June 1960, they have grown into a solid partnership based on friendship, mutual respect, and understanding.
The nations continue to work together on issues pertaining to Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and climate change.
With the hope that bilateral cooperation with Nepal would be strengthened on climate action and the advancement of the sustainable development goals, Ambassador Thesleff stated, “Sweden aims to further increase trade between our two nations and explore potential business opportunities involving Swedish and Nepalese companies.”
