Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is currently busy promoting its three candidates for the by-election. Rabi Lamichhane, Ramesh Kharel, and Dr. Swarnim Wagle are the candidates from the party in the by-election that is taking place on the 10th of Baisakh.
Among these three candidates for RSP, Rabi Lamichhane and Swarnim Wagle are more popular with the public. Ramesh Kharel, who is participating from the Terai region, has his own craze, but compared to Swarnim Wagle, Ramesh Kharel is far behind. But why is Swarnim Wagle so well-liked by the general public? Let’s discuss this in the post.
Nepal’s economic situation is very weak. We can figure this out from the protest that is ongoing in different parts of Nepal. Due to high interest rates from banks, many businesses have closed, and many business owners are struggling to repay their loans. And not only this, but everything’s price is increasing rapidly, and in such a situation, the government is not stable.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s government’s finance minister is from the Nepali Congress political party. Prakash Sharan Mahat is the Finance Minister of Nepal, and he is from the Nepali Congress. At a critical juncture, the Nepali Congress selected Prakash Sharan Mahat to handle the Finance Ministry. After that, Dr. Swarnim Wagle quit the Nepali Congress and joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party, becoming the candidate for Tanahau.
The public wants to improve the economic situation of Nepal, but they are also aware that this government can’t handle the critical situation. So they were expecting the Nepali Congress to give Dr. Wagle a chance. But when the Nepali Congress preferred groupism over specialization, the public became angry with the party. And the public wants Dr. Wagle to come to Parliament and support the government in improving the economic sector of Nepal.
If we observe the recent scenario, Dr. Swarnim Wagle’s craze is high, and there is a high chance of him being elected. But the question is, will Swarnim Wagle win over Rabi Lamichhane on the basis of a high vote total? If we compare the crazes, Rabi Lamichhane and Swarnim Wagle’s craze is high among the public. Although Rabi has a huge fan following, in their election area both of them are almost equally popular. The public wants Swarnim in parliament at any cost for an improvement of the financial situation of Nepal.
Rabi Lamichhane’s craze seems to be fading due to his citizenship issue. Rabi Lamichhane will win for sure, but the margin will be smaller than earlier due to controversies. And now the margin of winning can be high in Swarnim Wagle’s area as the craze seems to be high. And the public at Tanahu is also well literate and has analyzed the present scenario of Nepal and Nepali politics.
